BOISE CITY HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR LEAVE IT ALL ON THE FIELD AND BECOME SCHOOL WINNER IN THE HEISMAN HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP COMPETITION AWARDED
The National Award Program Releases the Names of 2022 School Winners
WHAT: Today, The Heisman Trophy Trust announce the 2022 School Winners for the Heisman High School Scholarship.
From an applicant pool of thousands of high school scholar-athletes graduating with the class of 2023, more than 5,700 have been named School Winners in the Heisman High School Scholarship competition awarded by The Heisman Trophy Trust.
School Winners will continue on for the chance to become State Winners, National Finalists or National Winners. State Winners receive a $1,000 college scholarship, National Finalists receive a $2,000 college scholarship and the male and female National Winners will each receive a $10,000 college scholarship.

WHY: The Heisman Memorial Trophy is annually awarded to the most outstanding college football player in the nation. The Heisman High School Scholarship extends the Heisman prestige to our nation’s most esteemed high school seniors by recognizing and rewarding outstanding scholar-athletes who understand that the most important victories not only happen on the field, but in their schools and communities. These remarkable young leaders set the example and make a game-changing difference every day, paving the way to greatness for everyone around them.
To apply, students must be graduating with the class of 2023, have a cumulative weighted high school grade point average of a B (3.0) or better, participate in at least one of the sports recognized by the International Olympic Committee, the Paralympic Games and/or the National Federation of State High School Association and be a leader in his/her school and community.

The high school celebrated Halloween this year with the annual door decorating contest and a costume contest.
For the third year in a row the class of 2026 were the winners with their excellent Stranger Things themed decorations.
The winners of the costume contest were Michael and San Juanita for best duo or group, Caelen for best cosplay, Mason for funniest, Brayden for most creative, and Gunner for best overall.




While some of the JH-HS students were checking out the marching uniforms, he found a costume among them. Never a dull moment in the music room.


Students in JH-HS band have wanted to try on marching band uniforms. Today they were given the opportunity.





This year BCPSD added JH-HS Band back into the schedule! Thirty- one new band Instruments were purchased for the program. 4 flutes, 9 clarinets, 1 alto sax, 7 trumpets, 2 French horns, 5 trombones, and 3 baritones have been added to the program which currently has 71 students enrolled in grades 5-12.


Our public library is offering a free online tutoring program for 6-12 grade students. If you do NOT want your child to have access, please sign this note and return it to your child’s school office by Tuesday, November 8. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Imler.

Last Day for the Book Fair is Tomorrow Friday November 5th at 5pm. Come get your last minute shopping done with us. We are open Today and Tomorrow from 1pm - 5pm.
