She doesn’t hesitate to help kids find books that interest them, gather books for teachers, and keep the library organized. She also helps facilitate our school wide reading challenges. We started something new in 3rd grade this week the kids and I would like to share… Each student will get a turn at being “The Royal Reader.” 🤴🫅 The Royal Reader gets to pick a book and pick a special place in the classroom to sit and read to their class.

Congratulations to the 2022-2023 Boise City Junior High Basketball Team who went undefeated with a perfect 19-0 record! This is the 2nd consecutive season to go undefeated with the 2021-2022 team going 18-0! Both groups compiled a 37-0 record!! Other achievements included back-to-back 2021, 2022 Yarbrough Tournament Champions as well as back-to-back 2021, 2022 Boise City Tournament Champions. Great job on all your hard work and dedication to the Boise City Basketball Program!!

Boise City Public Schools is asking for your help and cooperation with the payment of your child’s breakfast and/or lunch charges. As you are surely aware, the days of all student meals being paid for by the federal government are now gone. The previous system of price determination for student meals is back in place and has been for this entire school year. It is also important to note that the application that must be completed and submitted for free or reduced meals affects the meal prices only after the effective date of the application approval. That means that any meals charged to your child’s account prior to completion of that application process must be charged at the full meal prices that are charged to anyone not on the free/reduced program.
Local funding support (meaning the money collected by our district parents for their child’s meals) is essential to maintaining and sustaining the program.
At this moment, the current overall balance owed to the district for student meals is $15,252.70. One thing to note on the statement you receive from the school is that the dollar amount on your bill is a negative number if you owe money and positive if you have money left on your account. That is different and somewhat confusing from other statements you may receive, but that is the way that the software prints the statements.
You can pay your child’s bill at any school office or by going online to the Wengage Guardian Portal. If you have any questions regarding your child’s bill, please call the Child Nutrition Director at 580-544-3161. Thank you for doing your part to resolve this issue.

The HS Home Ec Classes have started a fun new project in the kitchen. They learned to make simple homemade pancakes. Now each group of students will create their own recipe and see how it turns out!!!! So far we’ve had bacon chocolate chip pancakes, cinnamon roll pancakes, bacon bits pancake with a fried egg on top & strawberry vanilla pancakes!!!

The kids had lots of fun doing a “Virtual Groundhog Mission, learning some facts about Groundhogs, Voting who wants 6 more weeks of Winter or ready for Spring (17 voted Spring and 2 for Winter), then we watched Punxsutawney Phil’s prediction on YouTube…needless to say they weren’t happy with the outcome…🥶
