Job Title: High School Special Education Paraprofessional
Location: Boise City Public School District – High School Campus, Boise City, Oklahoma

Position Overview:
Boise City Public School District is seeking a patient, caring, and dedicated High School Special Education Paraprofessional to support students and teachers in the classroom. The paraprofessional will assist with instructional activities, student supervision, and individualized support under the direction of a certified teacher. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping students succeed and a strong commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with classroom teachers and special education staff to support instructional goals and student learning.

  • Provide one-on-one or small-group academic assistance to students with disabilities.

  • Assist in implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and accommodations.

  • Support student behavior management and promote engagement and independence.

  • Help prepare instructional materials and maintain an organized classroom environment.

  • Supervise students in various settings, including the classroom, cafeteria, and during transitions.

  • Support students with special needs, including assisting with accommodations or physical tasks as needed.

  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

  • Communicate effectively with staff, students, and families.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the teacher, principal, or Special Education Director.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Patience, flexibility, and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

  • Ability to follow directions and work independently or as part of a team.

  • Experience working with students with disabilities preferred.

  • Must pass a background check and meet all state and district employment requirements.

Work Schedule:
This is a full-time, 10-month position aligned with the school calendar. A 10-month position typically follows the academic year—working during the school year (August through May) with scheduled school holidays and summers off.
