6–8 Grade Science Teacher (Full-Time, Part-Time, or Adjunct)
Position Overview:
Boise City Public School District is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Science Teacher to join our middle school faculty, teaching students in grades 6 through 8. This position is flexible and may be structured as full-time, part-time, or adjunct based on the candidate’s availability and the district’s needs.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for science education and a commitment to fostering a stimulating and engaging learning environment. The successful candidate will inspire students to explore scientific principles, develop critical thinking skills, and cultivate a love for learning.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with state and national science standards for grades 6–8.
Teach a range of science topics, including earth science, life science, physical science, and environmental science.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and active learning.
Utilize a variety of teaching methods and instructional technologies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
Conduct hands-on experiments, demonstrations, and lab activities to enhance student understanding and engagement.
Assess and monitor student progress through tests, projects, lab activities, and assignments.
Provide timely and constructive feedback to support student learning and development.
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance.
Prepare students for standardized tests and assessments in science.
Collaborate with colleagues to integrate cross-disciplinary content and enhance the overall curriculum.
Participate in faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events as required.
Uphold school policies and procedures, ensuring a safe and respectful learning environment for all students.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required for full-time and part-time candidates.
For adjunct candidates, subject-area expertise and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
State teaching certification or eligibility for certification in Science is preferred.
Experience teaching science at the middle school level is preferred.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, administrators, and parents/guardians.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Desired Skills:
Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and conducting experiments.
Experience with inquiry-based and hands-on learning approaches.
Familiarity with educational technology and digital tools for science education.
Commitment to continuous professional growth and staying current with scientific advancements.
Ability to create a culturally responsive and inclusive classroom environment.
