Boise City Public Schools is happy to announce that we will be able to offer free meals to all of our students beginning with the service of September 1, 2020. This windfall is due to new waivers from USDA that will fund the meals for all students until December 31,2020 or until the funding runs out -whichever occurs first. If you have already paid for meals, that price will be refunded to your meal account. There is still some uncertainty about the meals served on August 31, 2020 regarding payment, but from September 1, 2020 forward all meals will be free to all students until the waiver expires. This pricing change pertains to breakfast and lunch for all students. The supper program has not changed. Adults are still required to pay for their meals served through the school cafeteria. It is critical that everyone still complete and submit the Free and Reduced Lunch applications to the school. This waiver will expire and those applications need to be competed and submitted before October 1, 2020 so that there is no break in free and reduced meals service when the waiver is no longer in effect.
